CyLH2 Valley Learning Capsules series turns to digitalization
The latest session of the CyLH2 Valley knowledge series explored how digital solutions are reshaping the way hydrogen valleys are designed and scaled.
Hydrogen-natural gas blending for a cleaner hospital
The hospital will blend up to 20% hydrogen with natural gas in its existing boiler system, aiming to lower CO2 emissions from heating (currently around 10,000 tonnes/year). A new hydrogen distribution network will be installed, with two new gas mixers in each boiler that will blend natural gas and hydrogen in the desired proportions. The pilot will also explore the use of a dedicated hydrogen burner in one boiler as a test case. Annual hydrogen consumption is estimated at up to 200 tonnes.
