This pilot focuses on the production of clean hydrogen from renewable electricity to support industrial decarbonisation, focusing on the cement sector. On-site solar (13.7 MW) and wind (13.2 MW) plants generate about 62.2 GWh per year to power a 10 MW PEM electrolyser. The system will produce around 1,085 tonnes of clean hydrogen annually and about 8,600 tonnes of oxygen as a by-product. Hydrogen will be transported through a 1.4 km dedicated pipeline to a nearby cement plant for use as a direct furnace fuel, while oxygen will be used in the production process to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
